Reggae star Romain Virgo collaborates for the first time with dancehall star Masicka on their latest single, "Been There Before," produced by Romiech Entertainment, alongside Slyda Di Wizard and Niko Brown. Set to be unveiled on Friday, January 26th, Via VP Records. this eagerly awaited release provides a platform for the two esteemed Jamaican artists to share their personal struggles and depict a triumphant narrative.
In "Been There Before," Virgo and Masicka lend their voices to the voiceless, offering reassurance to the underprivileged and humiliated, conveying the message that greatness is attainable. Breaking free from the shackles of past negativity, both artists draw strength from their experiences and encourage others to strive for similar resilience.
Reflecting on the song, Romain Virgo expressed, "When I heard the riddim, it brought back all these memories from when I was a youth. It made me think about the struggles that I faced personally, and the struggles that we, as a family, faced together. It made me think of the struggles I face today. So, I knew I had to capture those reflections — on what is, what was, and what could be."
"Been There Before" marks the fourth single released in anticipation of Romain's upcoming studio album, following the success of "Good Woman," "Driver," and the recent hit "Switch You On." The Stepney, St. Ann native is set to captivate audiences in Jamaica in February, tour the North-East and South of the United States in March, participate in various Caribbean festivals in April, and grace European stages from June to August, including a performance at Germany's Summerjam in July.
Masicka has recently dropped his masterpiece 'Generation of Kings' album, experiencing phenomenal success on both charts and airwaves.
