Multi award-winning dancehall icon Sean Paul unleashes the electrifying visuals for his latest single, “Nah Follow Dem,” a powerful statement about recognizing superficial relationships and embracing genuine connections.

With over 5 million subscribers on YouTube, the singjay once again showcases his creativity—blending his signature flow and high-energy delivery with a message rooted in authenticity.

Directed by longtime collaborator Kieran Khan, the video places Sean Paul’s sleek Tesla Cybertruck in the middle of a gritty scrapyard, visually capturing the powerful contrast between a hard-fought past and futuristic ambition.

Khan, known for his work with Machel Montano, Cardi B, and longtime collaborator Sean Paul, serves as the superstar’s official tour videographer. “Sean recently acquired a Tesla Cybertruck, which is a rare sight in Kingston. We wanted to creatively incorporate it into a visual that fit the song’s raw energy. After discussing ideas, we agreed on a grungy aesthetic – placing the vehicle in the middle of a scrapyard, creating a raw yet futuristic feel”, Khan Shared,

“The symbolism in the video is layered,” Khan explains. “The scrapyard represents the tough, often limiting environments we grew up in—where dreams can feel out of reach, especially in the Caribbean. In contrast, the Cybertruck symbolizes progress, innovation, and the power of possibility. It’s a reminder to rise above those limitations and stay focused on the bigger vision—to ‘Nah Follow Dem.’

Born in Guyana, raised in the Bronx, and now based in Toronto, Khan has earned a reputation as one of the most sought-after video directors in today’s dancehall scene.

“Nah Follow Dem” also stands as a personal testimony for Khan, who shares that over a decade ago, he chose not to follow the crowd. Instead, it was focus, perseverance, and sacrifice that paved the way for his own success.

Khan remarked, “When an artiste or artist pours their personal experiences into a project, it becomes more than just music, more than just a video. It’s about expressing real, lived emotions. That’s what makes this project special. Sean has always taken pride in staying humble and private, but this track shows a rare moment of openness.”

Beyond the visuals, the song holds deep personal meaning for Sean Paul, according to Khan. Just days before the video shoot, the artist sent him an audio recording, sharing the real-life experiences and inspiration that shaped the track. “Many times, people smile in your face but don’t tell you why,” Sean said, reflecting on the experiences that led him to create Nah Follow Dem. "It is about knowing who’s real and who’s just pretending; about self-preservation and staying true to your own path. People will smile in your face but not tell you why. This track is a reminder to move wisely and keep your circle strong.”

Nah Follow Dem has inspired an entire juggling riddim, featuring additional tracks like “Smokey Royal" by veteran dancehall deejay Delly Ranx and "Honey Bee" by Looga Man, one of the original members of the Dutty Cup Crew.

Sean Paul explained how the riddim came together organically. “Sometimes studio is a vibe and I had a vibe to put out that song and other artistes caught the vibe. Delly Ranx wasn’t in the studio but he heard the song and called me to ask who built the riddim and I told him it’s a Dutty Rock production. Looga Man was in the studio and he liked it and was inspired to record a tune fi di ladies. So, now we have three artistes on the riddim and we continue to encourage jugglings in our productions,” the legendary icon elaborated.
