Shenseea and Masicka Lead 2025 Caribbean Music Awards with Seven Nominations Each

Grammy-nominated dancehall superstar Shenseea and Masicka lead the pack with seven nominations each, followed by soca star Kes with six. Vybz Kartel, Chronic Law, and Kranium each earned five nods




Grammy-nominated dancehall superstr Shenseea and dancehall hitmaker Masicka lead the nominations for the 2025 Caribbean Music Awards, with seven nods each.


Voting officially opened on Wednesday, with Shenseea scoring major recognition for her Grammy-nominated sophomore album "Never Gets Late Here", which is up for Album of the Year. She also received nominations for Song of the Year and Video of the Year for her smash collaboration “Hit & Run” featuring Masicka. Additional nods include Female Dancehall Artist of the Year, Performer of the Year, and the People’s Choice Award.


Masicka, also racked up seven nominations, including Dancehall Artist of the Year, Song of the Year for “Whites,” and Video of the Year for “20 Matic,” among others.



Soca powerhouses Kes and Patrice Roberts each secured six nominations. Dancehall megastar Vybz Kartel joins Kranium, Chronic Law, and soca princess Nailah Blackman with five nominations apiece.


Other notable nominees across multiple categories include Bugle, Jada Kingdom, Spice, Romain Virgo, Govana, Lila Iké, Dexta Daps, RajahWild, Moyann, and Kraff, among others.


The third edition of the Caribbean Music Awards is set to take place on Thursday, August 28, at the Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, New York. The awards are presented by the Caribbean Elite Group, the team behind Caribbean Elite Magazine.
