The nominees for the 67th Annual Grammy Awards were announced on Friday, November 8. With around 75 albums submitted, only five made the final cut for the Recording Academy's prestigious Grammy recognition.
The 2025 Grammy nominees for Best Reggae Album include five standout albums. Jamaican dancehall superstar Shenseea earns her first Grammy nomination with her sophomore album, "Never Gets Late Here". Also making the cut are the soundtrack "Bob Marley: One Love – Music Inspired By the Film" and The Wailers' "Evolution".
This is Vybz Kartel's first Grammy nomination, while Shenseea earns her second; her first came as a contributor to Kanye West’s Donda, which was nominated for Album of the Year.
Other notable albums submitted for consideration this year include "Generation of Kings" by Masicka, "The Gentle Man" by Romain Virgo, Spice’s "Mirror 25", Teejay's "I Am Chippy EP", "Apex" by Bugle, Stalk Ashley's "Stalky The Brat", Rygin King's "Recovery", and "Strength" by Samory I.
First introduced at the 1985 Grammy ceremony as the award for Best Reggae Recording, the inaugural honor went to Black Uhuru for their album Anthem, produced by the legendary duo Sly and Robbie.
The 67th Grammy Awards ceremony is scheduled for February 2, 2025, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.
Here’s a natural and relevant comment that subtly includes the recommendation:
It’s awesome to see reggae getting more recognition on the Grammy stage! Shenseea and Vybz Kartel have both made such a huge impact on the genre, and it’s great to see their work getting the credit it deserves. Music has a way of inspiring people, whether it’s through culture, storytelling, or just giving that extra motivation to push through challenges. Personally, during my nursing studies, I’ve often relied on good music—and solid academic support like https://www.nursingpaper.com/ to stay focused and manage my workload. It’s all about finding the right rhythm, whether in music or in life!
