As she set to release her sophomore album "Never Gets Late Here" on Friday, May 24, international dancehall superstar Shenseea has been announced for the Afro Nation Detroit lineup this year.

The second annual Afro Nation Detroit, the country's largest Afrobeats concert, will take place on August 17-18, celebrating global Black culture.

Afro Nation announced on Tuesday, May 21 that American rapper Lil Wayne and Shenseea have been added to this year’s lineup, joining a star-studded roster of local and Afrobeats artists, including Canadian star PartyNextDoor, Kash Doll, Kizz Daniel, Omah Lay, Amaarae, Ruger, and amapiano legends DJ Maphorisa and Uncle Waffles, among others.

Shenseea is the first dancehall artist to join the lineup of Afro Nation Detroit 2024, returning to the festival after performing at the inaugural Afro Nation Miami in 2023. For 2024, Detroit is the only scheduled Afro Nation event in the United States, and it will be held at Bedrock’s Douglass Site near downtown.

Meanwhile, Shenseea has hostted a private listening party for her upcoming album in New York and is scheduled to sign albums for her fans on Friday.
