According to reports from Paris, 200m World Champion Shericka Jackson will not compete in the 100m at the Paris Olympics. She will be replaced by Shashalee Forbes and will now focus on the 200m event.

This decision follows an incident on July 9, during the women's 200m race at the Istvan Gyulai Memorial, where Jackson experienced what was described as a 'cramp' in her hamstring.

Forbes, 28, finished fourth in the 100m final at the Jamaica National Championships in late June, clocking 11.04 seconds behind Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Tia Clayton, and winner Shericka Jackson.

There have been no official updates from her MVP Track Club, but according to reports from the Jamaica Gleaner, Jamaican Athletics manager Ludlow Watts confirmed the change.

In an interview with Jamaican media on Tuesday, Coach Stephen Francis stated, “I think that is something you’re going to have to address to her medical personnel, but as far as I know, she appears to be okay to me.”

The Jamaican team is already missing double Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah due to injury.
