As she is getting prepared to host the Caribbean Music Awards tonight, Thursday, August 29th, at the prestigious Kings Theatre, the Queen of Dancehall, Spice, was honored with a Proclamation from the New York City Council, recognizing her outstanding contribution to music as she celebrates 25 years in the industry. The honor highlights her remarkable influence and the impact she has made in representing Caribbean culture on a global stage.


Spice shared the exciting news on her Instagram, expressing her gratitude and humility. "Let it be known that on August 29th, I received another Proclamation from New York City Council for my outstanding contribution to music celebrating 25 years," she wrote. The Proclamation, which lauds Spice as an "unparalleled force - strong, resilient, creative, and influential," underscores her role in breaking barriers and elevating Caribbean culture worldwide.


In her post, Spice gave special thanks to Council Member Rita Joseph, who played a significant role in the recognition. "I’m so humbled and grateful," she shared, adding, "This is not a small thing, this is a very big thing."



This Proclamation serves as a testament to Spice's enduring legacy in the music industry, coming after the release of her third studio album, 'Mirror 25', which debuted at #7 on the Billboard charts. Additionally, Spice also delivered a special performance of the single "Mirror" from her album at Vevo Studios.
