Queen of Dancehall Spice is no stranger to having her music featured in films and television. Her 2014 crossover hit “So Mi Like It” was recently featured in the British TV series “Boarders”, distributed by Paramount Pictures.
The series follows the journey of five teenagers who earn scholarships to the prestigious St. Gilbert’s boarding school. Developed by Studio Lambert in association with All3Media International for BBC Three, “Boarders” premiered in 2024. Its second season was released on February 3, 2025.
This isn’t the first time Spice’s music has been featured in a TV series. In July 2023, her single “Clap Clap” appeared in the Netflix series “Survival of the Thickest.”
Earlier, in March 2023, “So Mi Like It” was also featured in the dance competition series “Dance 100”, where choreographers battled for a $100,000 grand prize.
Originally released in 2014 on acclaimed Jamaican producer Ainsley "Notnice" Morris’ Boom Box Riddim, “So Mi Like It” has amassed over 93 million streams on Spotify. The track achieved Gold certification in Canada in July 2023, Silver certification in the UK on August 30, 2024, and Gold eligibility in the U.S. in 2024.
