Spice pays tribute to Busta Rhymes
Legendary American rapper, Busta Rhymes, was the man of the hour last Sunday, when he received the BET Lifetime Achievement Award at the BET Awards ceremony held in Los Angeles. Busta, who is of Jamaican descent, was introduced by comedian Marlon Wayans, who praised the rapper as a "brilliant" musical force.
"I just am grateful for the blessing that has been bestowed upon me and this gift that I have been given, and this fire that continues to burn as a passion in my soul", said the 51-year-old rapper. "It’s just me trying to do my duty to continue to advance the culture and continue to contribute in a significant way. I see so many people in here that I have known and grown with for a long time. You're watching me grow and I love y'all, and I know y'all love me", he added excitedly.
Many hip-hop stars including; Swizz Beats, Spliff Star and Janet Jackson showed their gratitude to the icon with several Jamaican musicians expressing similar sentiments.

Dexta Daps, Skillibeng and Spice are among those who got to perform on the stage honoring the 'Gimmi Some More’ Rapper. The Seaview Gardens native, Dexta Daps lit up the stage with his hit single, 'Shabba Madda Pot', while the queen of dancehall gave her usual active & energetic set including her smash hit single, 'So Mi Like It', which was produced by Notnice Records back in 2014.
The international dancehall star recently shared an emotional post on her Instagram page, showing her appreciation for the legendary rapper. "Dear Trevor Smith Aka Busta Rhymes. There’s over 7 billion people in this world, yet there’s no other human like you. Not every day we come across a Legend that’s humble, generous, loving, kind, passionate, patient, loving, caring, showing resilience and compassion, I can go on and on and on", she wrote. "Today I want to say thank you for including our Dancehall Culture in your big day. I know the entire of Jamaica is Celebrating. Congratulations on your lifetime achievement Award You deserve not just flowers, but the entire garden. I Love you so Much", she admiringly added.
