The legendary American female star, Missy Elliott celebrated the 26th anniversary of the release of her debut album, 'Supa Dupa Fly'. The project became one of the most influential albums in Rap/Hip-Hop, one of many in her tremendous career.
The Queen of Rap as she is referred to, conducted a celebratory dinner with her close friends, including the Queen of Dancehall, Spice, and both were spotted dancing to Spice's smash hit single, 'So Mi Like It'.
The American rapper also shared the video on her Twitter account and added; "This is how the night started & how it ended", while thanking her friends for a great time in another tweet; "Thank You to my friends who took me to dinner and made my night! I’ve only been on 3 vacations, and I never find the time, I always say But I gotta finish this or that. But my friends said no tonight. Let us do something for you", described the rapper who also recently celebrated her 52nd birthday and further added; "I'm Grateful for Ya'll". Spice, still basking in her successful tribute performance held at the BET awards ceremony for American rapper Busta Rhymes, continues to infiltrate the US market.
The 'Supa Dupa Fly' album, debuted at number three on the US Billboard 200 with 129,000 copies sold in the first week released, becoming the highest debut for a female rapper at the time. The album remained on the chart for 37 weeks. It was nominated for 'Best Rap Album' at the 1998 Grammys, and won the VMA for 'Best Direction in a Video'. It has since been certified platinum and sold over 7 million copies worldwide.
"So Mi Like It" was originally released in 2014 by Notnice Records and became one of Spice's landmark singles, with the music video amassing over 116 million views on YouTube to date while also featuring in the Netflix TV series, 'Dance 100'. her single 'Clap Clap' is also featured in Netflix’s 'Survival Of The Thickest'.
