Jamaican dancehall superstar Shenseea’s debut performance at Raha Fest in Kenya was unexpectedly cut short due to chaos outside the venue. The singer was on stage for only three minutes at Uhuru Gardens, performing two songs, performing two songs before being rushed off by local security as tear gas filled the air.
According to the Kenyan press, police reportedly deployed tear gas near the venue to disperse young protesters demonstrating against President William Ruto’s government. The unrest spilled over into the concert area, triggering panic among attendees and forcing the abrupt end of Shenseea’s performance.
Shenseea expressed her frustration with the situation on Twitter, posting, "Now, KENYA I’m a lil mad at y’all ngl."
Despite the brief performance, Shenseea’s presence at Raha Fest highlighted her growing global influence over the past year. With bookings lined up in Asia, the Caribbean, and Europe for 2025, the Jamaican dancehall star continues to solidify her status on the international stage.
