Teejay, Billboard calling
As dancehall star Teejay's hit single 'Drift' climbs various charts, he is actively preparing for the launch of his debut EP, 'I Am Chippy.'
'Drift' continues to make significant strides, re-entering the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart at #41 and making a notable debut at #37 on Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay. Furthermore, on Rhythmic Top 40 Airplay, 'Drift' is on an upward trajectory, ascending from 36 to 33.
Teejay recently cultivated a solid bond with Nigerian afrobeat sאשר Davido, resulting in the creation of a remix version for 'Drift.' This upcoming remix, set for release, enjoyed an exclusive premiere by Seani B on BBC1Xtra. The synergy formed and the exciting collaboration with Davido prompted Teejay to embark on a brief concert tour in Nigeria, sharing the stage with the local star. Subsequently, he made his way to London, where he delivered several performances in the local dancehall music scene.
Anticipating the release of his 8-track EP, the Mobay son, is revving up for another single. Collaborating with fellow Mobay dancehall star Tommy Lee Sparta, the upcoming track titled 'Dip' is expected to hit the airwaves before the year concludes. This collaboration isn't the only one on Teejay's expanding repertoire, as he disclosed in a previous interview that the nearing completion of the project will also feature a single with dancehall star Skillibeng.
With three notable collaborations in the pipeline and 'Drift' making waves globally, fans are eagerly awaiting the EP's release, targeted for the end of the year.
