Dancehall general Bounty Killer arrived in the States for the first time in over 15 years after his visa was reinstated.
With his arrival in the U.S., the general linked up with world-renowned DJ Khaled, who has a strong bond with the Jamaican music industry. Both shared footage of their reunion on social media. "Miami, welcome our brother. It’s been 15 years," Khaled shared.
With an unmatched impact on generations of dancehall, nearly the entire community has greeted the general, as he is popularly known, following the reinstatement of his U.S. visa. Fellow dancehall icons, including Vybz Kartel, who commented, "God is the greatest," Shaggy, Busy Signal, Jah Vinci, Dexta Daps, Konshens, Stephen 'Di Genius' McGregor, and Popcaan, along with many others, have reacted to the news.
His arrival in the States, alongside producer Esco Da Shocker, was documented by Winford Williams and the Onstage platform.
With the reinstatement of Bounty Killer's visa, following previous artists like Beenie Man, Vybz Kartel, and Buju Banton, it is expected to open doors for the dancehall fraternity to create iconic stage moments in the States. Fans are already dreaming of a historic moment where Vybz Kartel and Bounty Killer share the stage in the U.S.
