Maestro Marley Cup returns on September 2nd


Ky-Mani Marley, on of iconic reggae legend Bob Marley and his brothers meets for the Maestro Marley Cup Reggae Festival on Saturday, September 2nd at Hollywood ArtsPark at Young Circle. Maestro Marley Cup is an uplifting experience for the whole family that combines a reggae music festival, a 6 v 6 soccer tournament and Caribbean food for a good cause.


The magical day of music and love will feature live performances by Ky-Mani Marley, Julian Marley, Damian Marley, Stephen Marley, Inner Circle, I-Octane, Locas Por Juana, Shacia Marley, KJ Marley, Kastin Marley, Dubwise and The Dubplates and more artistes TBA. This will be the first show of 2023 where the Marley brothers will perform together on one stage in Florida.


"Last year was a wonderful time. The families, players, artistes and musicians were out and it was great. We look forward to seeing you at the Maestro Marley Cup on September 2, 2023," said Maestro Marley Cup organizer and Konrfrontation Muzik founder Kyi-Many Marley. The event will include Jamaican food, plant-based food, seafood, island cuisine and Latin fusion.



There will also be a 6 vs. 6-soccer tournament taking place starting at noon inside of the park with 15-minute halfs with a $1,000 cash prize for the winner. gates open at 12 Pm. Live music performances start at 16:00 and will continue until 23:00. The outdoor event will also be filled with Caribbean food, drinks, cultural vendors, giveaways and activities for the whole family.

It's an uplifting experience that brings the community together and raises money for a great cause," said Maestro Marley Cup co-organizer David "Big Hair" Brischer.


Advance tickets are available now for $40 each until July 31, 2023. Advanced General Admission tickets to the Maestro Marley Cup cost $50 and Advanced VIP tickets cost $150 and include a private bar, premier viewing area and a separate VIP entrance gate. There is also the option to enjoy a VIP table with bottle service for four people. Fees for 6 vs. 6 football teams are $500 for 8 players per team and include tickets to the concert.

The Maestro Marley Trophy was created by Ky-Mani Marley and Big Hair Dave The Dubplates to help raise funds for the Love Over All Foundation. The Love Over All Foundation (LOAF) helps communities in need through sports and music. The main project of the Love Over All Foundation, Falmouth United, is a soccer center and team that provides a safe space for Jamaican youth to help keep them off the streets and invest in their future. Through last year's event, Ki-many and the foundation donated tens of thousands of dollars that impacted the community by adding electricity to the sports center, providing new shoes, uniforms and equipment, salaries for coaches and staff, transportation to tournaments, providing meals and more. basics


The Maestro Marley Cup also raises funds for the Hollywood Police Athletic League, a youth program that helps prevent youth crime and substance abuse by developing discipline, self-esteem and positive moral values through healthy competition and positive role models. Donations can also be made online for $5 to help underprivileged youth in Hollywood, Florida and Falmouth Jamaica.


Event sponsors include the City of Hollywood, Visit Lauderdale Tourism Board, Hollywood KIA, High Rise Beverage Company and more to be announced.



Ky-Mani Marley's connection to football is not something new, when Maestro Marley, as he is popularly known as, is considered a fan of the Dutch football club, Ajax, who routinely plays the iconic Bob Marley's song, 'Three Little Birds' before every home match in front of 50,000 people in the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam.
