Tia Clayton Earns Her First Diamond League Win With A 10.83s Personal Best

Silesia Diamond League: Clayton & Ackeem Blake set personal bests, Nugent breaks meet record

The Diamond League meeting in Silesia featured several Jamaican athletes as the season continued. 20-year-old sprint sensation Tia Clayton clocks a personal best of 10.83s to win her first Diamond League meeting in a photo finish over 35-year-old Marie-Josée Ta Lou-Smith, both just 0.01 seconds ahead of Tamari Davis of U.S.



Jamaica's Ackera Nugent set a meet record of 12.30s (+0.6) to win the 100m hurdles, with Alaysha Johnson of the U.S. finishing second in 12.46s, and Olympic champion Masai Russell placing fifth in 12.56s.



In the 100m, Ackeem Blake clocked a personal best of 9.89s to finish third, while Paris bronze medalist Fred Kerley claimed victory in 9.87s (+1.9), narrowly edging out Ferdinand Omanyala, who finished in 9.88s. Olympic silver medalist Kishane Thompson did not start the race for unknown reasons.



American sprinter and Olympic gold medalist Grant Holloway rebounded over Jamaica's Rasheed Broadbell, clocking a time of 13.04s (+1.1), while Broadbell recorded a season's best (SB) of 13.05s. Daniel Roberts of the USA finished third in 13.24s.
