With the excitement of the Paris Olympic Games still fresh, the athletics season is sprinting towards its conclusion, with five more Diamond League meetings scheduled in the coming weeks. The next stop is in Lausanne, Switzerland, where several Jamaican athletes are set to compete.
Rising 100m sprint star Tia Clayton will face off against seasoned competitors such as veteran Marie-José Ta Lou, Britain's Dina Asher-Smith and Daryll Neita, as well as American Tamari Davis.
In the men's 110m hurdles, Paris bronze medalist Rasheed Broadbell will attempt to challenge Olympic champion Grant Holloway. Joining him is fellow Jamaican, former Olympic champion Hansle Parchment, who has also entered the race.
In the women's 100m hurdles, Ackera Nugent and Danielle Williams will go head-to-head with silver medalist Cyréna Samba-Mayela of France and bronze medalist Jasmine Camacho-Quinn.
The women's 400m hurdles promises to be equally thrilling, with four Jamaican athletes—Rushell Clayton, Janieve Russell, Andrenette Knight, and Shiann Salmon—set to compete against Olympic Bronze medalist Femke Bol of the Netherlands. American sprinter Shamier Little will also be in the mix, although two-time Olympic champion and world record holder Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone will not compete at the event.
Following Lausanne, the final Diamond League meetings will take place in Poland, Rome, Zurich, and Brussels, respectively.
