In the inner city, the next breakthrough artiste is never far away. This rings true for 19-year-old Tielo Lanez, who is riding high on success with his recent releases, "Muk Truck" and "Bless."
Lanez first gained traction on TikTok, where his breakout single, "Muk Truck," became a viral anthem among youths. Released in October, the track is featured on DJ Mac and Mxssivh's "Gwann Suh Riddim," alongside fellow dancehall star Valiant. To date, the single has amassed nearly 800,000 views on YouTube, cementing Lanez as one to watch in the genre.
The Morant Bay College graduate who relocated to Kingston, Tielo Lanez, has been winning fans with his catchy lyrics and distinctive flow, particularly resonating with female listeners. Following the viral success of "Muk Truck," his latest single, "Bless," produced by DJ Mac and Extended Play Records, continues to make waves on social media. The track blends traditional dancehall vibes with a touch of Latin influence, further showcasing Lanez's versatility and creativity.
"I’ve experimented on genres such as Afro, pop, rap, dancehall, R&B, and trap soul, which led me to realize that my strong points are in dancehall, trap soul, and R&B," the young talent said. "I am able to record, mix, and master my own vocals without the help of a specialized producer."
Lanez has also begun performing at stage shows, capitalizing on his growing momentum. This festive season, he has made appearances at several high-profile events, including Ghetto Splash in Kingston and Teen Fete in Ocho Rios, delivering short but impactful sets that highlight his potential.
Recently signed to DJ Mac and EP Records, he added, "I aspire to be the best version of myself, both as a person and as an artist."
Having started his musical journey as a teenager under the name "Khid," Lanez rebranded to Tielo Lanez and is now carving a unique path in the vibrant, ever-evolving dancehall scene. With raw talent and growing momentum, as 2025 is just around the corner, Tielo Lanez is undoubtedly a name to watch.
