Dancehall star Valiant kicks off 2025 with an impactful track featuring producer Weekday, while actor/director Cornelius Grant makes an appearance in the video
Valiant with dancehall producer, Weekday, teaming up for the first time
Valiant starts the new year strong with his first single of 2025, teaming up with Tru Ambassador Entertainment producer Weekday for the track “Grimey”. Released on January 11, this marks their first collaboration, bringing a fresh dynamic to their musical repertoire.
On “Grimey”, Valiant and Weekday explore themes of maintaining integrity and focus while pursuing success. Over expertly crafted production, Valiant reflects on his struggles and the caution required even in times of triumph. The lyrics delve into being mindful of one’s surroundings and protecting energy from negative influences that seek to harm and disrupt.
Accompanying the track is a striking music video directed by Damaniac Visuals. The visuals feature appearances from Weekday and actor/director/media personality Cornelius Grant, widely recognized for his role as Bucky Marshall in the Bob Marley biopic One Love.
Weekday’s production enhances the song’s message, creating a compelling and impactful soundscape that adds another hit to the Tru Ambassador Entertainment catalog. Valiant’s Diplomats Records continues to soar with this release.
Weekday has an impressive track record of collaborations with artists like 450, Deno Crazy, Pablo YG, 1SkiMask, Mavado, and Alkaline. Known for his distinct sound, he previously released the “Quarantine” and “Tears of Joy” riddim compilations and is gearing up for a new riddim release later this year.
With “Grimey,” Valiant and Weekday deliver a powerful message and set the tone for an exciting 2025 in Dancehall.
