Valiant's Protégé Rain Ready to Shine with Upcoming EP 'Elements'

Emerging artist Rain, who recently joined Valiant's label "Raheem Wid The Book," inspired by legends, prepares for her debut EP with a collab with her mentor

In the Jamaican music industry, new artists emerge almost every day. However, when an upcoming artist decided to take the musical career seriously, it marked the kickstart of something significant.


Danielle Jahmilyah Rain Barham, known by her stage name Rain, has been making music on and off since last year. This June marked a turning point for her, solidifying her commitment to her craft. Rain, hailing from Central Village, St. Catherine, Jamaica, is now poised to make waves as a rising talent in the industry. "Rain is one of my given names, one of my middle names," she explains. "Because it’s unique, people always gravitate to it more, and I love it so much."

Rain's musical style blends reggae and dancehall, showcasing her versatility and talent. "No limitations but sticking to that for now," she said.


mentoring by dancehall star Valiant and recently signed to his label, Raheem Wid The Book. "I had a friend from school who had a mutual friend with Valiant. We met a couple of times and spoke, and they told him I could sing. At the time, he had a song called 'Top Flyt,' and I did a cover of it. We started conversing more about music. The 'Diplomats' are very articulate people, vibrant and uplifting. Valiant himself is very hardworking, talented, and a great mentor," she explains, delving into their connection.



She speaks highly of Valiant and his team, The Diplomats, describing them as articulate. "Valiant's success has inspired me tremendously to work hard and turn dreams into reality. It evokes excitement and gratitude," she resonated.


Rain is set to release her debut EP, "Elements," with the lead single "Bonnie and Clyde" featuring Valiant. Her musical influences are diverse, ranging from legends like Bob Marley and Jah Cure to artists like Jahmiel, Chronixx, Shaneil Muir, Jada Kingdom, and Mariah the Scientist.

With Valiant's success as a source of inspiration, Rain is motivated to work hard and transform her dreams into reality. She dreams of collaborating with international stars like Chris Brown, Mariah the Scientist, Tems, and Fridayy.
