Dancehall artiste Gully Bop died at the age of 59, apparently due to health issues and the severe challenges he faced in recent years.


It has been reported that the 59-year-old deejay had been battling health problems for an extended period and was hospitalized at Kingston Public Hospital, where he ultimately passed away on a Monday.


The dancehall deejay was known as "Country Man" in the 1980s. He rose from homelessness to fame in 2014. One of his most renowned singles, "My God," which went viral, opened doors for him to perform at well-known events in Jamaica, including Sting.



In more recent times, Gully Bop faced significant financial challenges, which brought him back into the public eye. Social media influencer and humanitarian Aunty Donna sought help for him during his trying moments.
