A video of Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola involved in an altercation with a football fan went viral on social media on Friday afternoon.
In the 24-second clip, Guardiola is seen walking along a street in Manchester city center wearing a dark gray suit and black tie, accompanied by his son Marius and another man.
As he was being led away from the confrontation, Guardiola turned and said, “Do you know what is lost? Do you know what is lost? You want me to show you?”.
As Guardiola walked past the camera, a man with a Scouse accent who was filming the City manager retorted, “Nah, mate, just because you lost.”
The relationship between Guardiola and Liverpool fans is considered contentious. After the Reds' 2-0 defeat at Anfield on Sunday, their fans chanted to Guardiola, “You’re going to be sacked in the morning.” In response, Guardiola waved six fingers at them — one for each championship he has won.
Meanwhile, Pep recently made a remark about José Mourinho through the media, prompting the Portuguese manager to respond in his signature style. “Guardiola said something about me yesterday, that he has won six trophies and I’ve won three. But I won honestly and cleanly,” Mourinho reportedly told Turkish media. “If I lose, I congratulate my opponent for being better than me. But I don’t want to win with 150 lawsuits.”
This was a pointed reference to the multiple charges against Manchester City, which faces potential relegation due to alleged financial violations since the arrival of its Emirati owner in 2008.
