Jamaican dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel has dropped his first project since being released from prison, a 12-track compilation of previously released songs
Vybz Kartel, back to reality
Jamaican dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel has wasted no time following his release from prison by dropping his 12-track project, "First Week Out," currently available exclusively on Apple Music.
The compilation features a mix of older tracks like "Beat Dem Bad" featuring Squash, "Unstoppable", "Skillful," "The Menace," "Win," and "Success Story," along with the newly voiced intro "Feel Great" featuring '6ix Boss' Squash as well.
Kartel was released after serving 13 years for the 2011 murder of Clive "Lizard" Williams. His release follows a decision by Jamaica's Court of Appeal, which voted against a retrial after the Privy Council overturned his original conviction in March 2024 due to juror misconduct.
Celebrating his newfound freedom, Kartel shared a clip with his fiancée on social media, marking the end of his lengthy legal battle.
