Dancehall megastar Vybz Kartel is experiencing overwhelming demand for performances following his release from prison after 13 years. With anticipation building for his first post-prison concert, Freedom Street, set for New Year's Eve on December 31, Kartel has hinted at plans to perform in Africa in early 2025.
In a social media video, Kartel revealed these plans during a conversation with Ghana's Deputy Director of Diaspora Affairs, Ms. Nadia Adongo, who confirmed that the dancehall star is eyeing a visit to Ghana in February 2025. The artist expressed his excitement about meeting the official, praising both President Nana Akufo-Addo and the people of Ghana.
Alongside Ghana, Kartel has also added Kenya and Zimbabwe to his African tour schedule. The Worl' Boss boasts a massive fanbase across the African continent, further strengthened by his strong connection with Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale. Kartel is expected to receive a warm welcome as he reconnects with African audiences eager to experience his electrifying performances.
With Freedom Street on the horizon, Kartel is also set to perform in the Bahamas in March 2025, with more Caribbean countries likely to follow as demand for his post-prison shows continues to grow.
