Dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel has reportedly been granted U.S. visa reinstatement, according to multiple sources. He is expected to attend the 67th Grammy Awards this Sunday and perform in the U.S. later this year. While the deejay has yet to confirm or deny the reports, he hinted at the possibility with a tweet saying, "U.S. Visa Loading."
It’s no secret that the 49-year-old deejay is actively working to have his visa reinstated following his release from prison last year, especially with a video featuring immigration attorney Terrica Jennings circulating just a day after his historic Freedom Street concert.
With Vybz Kartel reportedly planning to attend the 67th Annual Grammy Awards at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles this Sunday night, sources indicate that the "Comet" deejay will travel to Los Angeles via Barbados. He is expected to attend a media launch there on Thursday ahead of his highly anticipated show on April 20 promoted by Zulu Entertainment Inc.
The Worl' Boss, who is set to return to Europe this summer, is also working on securing his U.K. and Canadian visas. With a packed schedule in the coming months, Vybz Kartel is preparing for a series of performances across the Caribbean, including stops in The Bahamas, Costa Rica, and Trinidad. He has already been confirmed as a headliner for Summerjam, one of Europe's biggest reggae festivals, set for July in Cologne, Germany. Kartel is also possibly set for a headline spot at London's Wireless Festival, pending visa approvals.
