This year, the highly anticipated Vybz Kartel's Freedom Street has added to the packed airport schedule, causing a surge in air travel and leading to some flight delays as attendees flock to witness the dancehall legend's first major celebration since his release from prison


Vybz Kartel's "Freedom Street" is drawing international celebrities to Jamaica, with American rapper Busta Rhymes set to perform tonight. Busta was spotted on Monday night at the weekly event "Uptown Mondays".



Among those reportedly heading to the island is Jamaican-American podcaster and internet personality DJ Akademiks, who recently interviewed Kartel for an upcoming episode and was also seen with Popcaan on Monday night.


Joining the list of celebrities are Canadian-Jamaican model Winnie Harlow, who is already in Jamaica, U.K. actor and rapper Idris Elba, British-Jamaican rapper Stefflon Don, who was also spotted at Uptown Mondays, and Jada Kingdom, who recently flew to the island. All are speculated to attend Kartel's highly anticipated New Year's Eve concert.
