Looking ahead to an ambitious and driven year, the ‘Bush-Lawd’, artiste Yaksta, prepares to entertain fans with a prelude album launch show on February 21, 2023, at a new venue.

The venue has now changed from Mandela Park in Half Way Tree to the Festival Marketplace in the heart of Downtown Kingston. This announcement comes days after Yaksta announced his first track off the album called 'Alchemist'. Titled '22', the album boasts 19 tracks, creating the perfect playlist for wholesome entertainment.

The album launch party is still free to the public, with gates opening as early as 6 pm. Hosted by Amber from Irie FM, the event promises live band performances from the likes of the king of the dancehall Beenie Man, Chronic Law, Nation Boss, 10Tik, Monifia, and Yaksta himself, backed by the Kurfew, and the Skalawagz Band. There might even be a special guest appearance.

"I do music for the people. My music aims to entertain and educate, so I wanted to host a launch that would place me closer to my fans. The music and overall ambiance is one that will promote positivity", said Yaksta.

Endorsed by the Jamaica Reggae Industry Association (JaRIA) for Reggae Month 2023, Yaksta ‘22’ album launch party is highly anticipated. "I have received support from JaRIA, JAMMS, and JACAP and I appreciate it greatly. The event is also on the Reggae Month calendar of events, and I feel elated to know that the movers and shakers within the industry are supporting the new generation of artistes who choose to release positive music", added the 'Ambition' singer.

‘22’ goes live on February 24th distributed and marketed by Hapilos. Yaksta explained the album title, saying, "I decided to call the album 'Yaksta 22' because 22 in numerology is a soul number. It is perceived as the most powerful and creative number of all. This means you can overcome all kinds of obstacles and are not easily knocked back by failure. The track on the album creates a perfect balance for my fans to enjoy. It provides a state of equilibrium".

Yaksta, will also perform in the countryside

The album features collaborations with Demarco, Chronic Law, and Rygin King. Bush Muzik, GTAC Entertainment Group, Afro Boi Ent, Anju Blaxx & Kadeem (Black State Jamaica), Marlon Eazy, DJ Lank (Code Red Sound), Extended Play Records, and a couple more are among the production team of the whole project.

In May, Yaksta will also host two impressive live band shows under the name ‘Yaksta 22 Series’. The 1st staging will be held on the 6th of May at Boston Beach in Portland and on the 13th of May in St. Elizabeth at a venue to be confirmed shortly.

Both events will feature a stellar list of performers ranging from Tarrus Riley, Louie Culture, Capleton, and Govana to name a few.
