Zagga earns Grammy nod for Best Reggae Album
After having charted on several Billboard charts in the past across countries like Luxembourg, Sweden, Namibia, China, and Denmark, Jamaican recording artist Zagga is now savoring a new wave of success. His album 'Energy Never Lie' has earned him a Grammy consideration.
With the first round of Grammy voting underway until October 19, Zagga’s 12-track album is one of 75 albums and projects in the running for the Best Reggae Album award. On November 1st, the nominees will be shortlisted to five finalists for the 67th Grammy Awards, set to take place on February 2 at the Crypto Arena in Los Angeles.
Executive produced by Amini Music, Energy Never Lie boasts top-tier production from talents like Shakespeare, Collect the Bread (Chronic Law's producer and manager Bashy), and contributions from the renowned Jordan McClure of Chimney Records.
The album features standout collaborations such as “Bad Sneakers” with IWaata, “Pressure” featuring Jahshii, and “Girl Next Door” with dancehall artist Moyann. Additionally, it includes the title track, Energy Never Lie, and fan favorite “Believe and Pray,” produced by video director and producer Shane Creative.
"I just want to shout out to Shakespeare, Extol, Bashy, Amini Music, as well as Jordan of Chimney. Also, shout out to Jahshii, IWaata, and Moyann, of course," Zagga shared.
Following its release, the album made a notable impact, debuting at number three on the US charts and quickly rising to the top of the Jamaican Reggae charts. Now, with Grammy consideration in hand, Zagga is hoping to make his mark on one of the biggest stages in the music industry. He also mentioned that he has already begun working on his next album, with a strong focus on achieving international success.
